Tonight: There's a tasty talk in Deptford tonight about raw food. 'Raw Like Lion' Raw Foods will try to persuade you there really is more to it than smoothies, salads and sushi at Deptford Deli, 4 Tanner's Hill Deptford from 6.15pm. £2.50 a head and you'll get a free raw mag thrown in.

Friday: Take your Friday Tonic in the Front Room at QEH with Tomorrow's Warriors getting jazzy from 5.30pm. Later on, The Crucial Music Club features "acoustic & relatively quiet bands due to neighbours" at The Haverstock Arms, 154 Haverstock Hill NW3 tonight from 8pm. Free.

Saturday: Two handy events for free today: Go to New London Architecture for talks and surgeries giving advice and inspiration to Londoners looking to extend their home, based around the "Don't Move, Improve" exhibition. Register for the specialist sessions now, property peeps. Or be a streetwise stitcher at Cupcakes! Cocktails! & Cross Stitch! this afternoon at The Book Club Bar, 100 Leonard Street, EC2A 4RH. Admission free between 2-8pm.

Sunday: This one makes us feel all wholesome: join a family barn dance at Cecil Sharp House between 3-5pm and learn lively dances from the British Isles with a live band and caller. For children of all ages with their parents or carers. £5 adults/£3 kids.

If that seems a bit too jolly you could learn a thing or two about atheism if you turn up for the South Place Ethical Society lecture on Atheism: Misperceptions and Misconstructions. Conway Hall, 11am.

Monday: With some of us focused on dating right now, the free Gresham College talk tonight at 6pm might be useful: In the Brain of the Beholder? The Principles of Beauty and Sex Appeal. At the Museum of London's ace new lecture theatre.

Tuesday: Not at work today? There are all sorts of funky free things happening at the Natural History Museum (and not just today). Check out the new Nature Live talks, free and open to all, in the new Attenborough Studio. Discover a World of Worms today at 2.30pm.

Wednesday: There's a talk courtesy of Greenwich Historical Society tonight about the Soames Family. They were wealthy merchants living in Blackheath from the 1840s to the 1930s and among their many mansions were the Red House next to Vanbrugh Castle, Maze Hill House, and 27 Vanbrugh Park. £3 donation suggested from non-members, 7.30pm at the Blackheath Bakehouse.

What did we miss? What's going on round your 'hood? Cheap and free suggestions of things to do in London always welcome. Email londonist at gmail dot com, leave a comment or tweet @londonist. Thanks.
