The London Chess Classic folded up its boards last night as Londoner, Luke McShane walked off with the best prize we've ever heard of, the "Brilliancy prize" for this game. We haven't a clue what it means but we're very impressed. The overall winner was Norwegian wunderkid, 19 year old chess grandmaster, Magnus Carlsen. Be still our collective sense of underachievement.
The pawns and the knights have departed but it's all horsey action at Olympia now until next Monday with the London International Horse Show setting up its stables. Not only is there show jumping and dressage at this equine extravaganza but a dog agility competition and best of all, the Shetland Pony Grand National. Horsey dancing, dog wiggling and dinky pony jumping all under one roof! Tickets aren't cheap but hi-ho silver we want to get some.
The London International Horse Show is at Olympia until 21st December. Tickets and all info online at www.olympiahorseshow.com
