Erotica: we went so you didn't have to spend £30 to do likewise.
Trade fairs are never sexy and Erotica was anything but. However, those trying on corsets, buzzing sex toys in their palms, rubbing lube between their fingers, testing the electronic pulses of the 'E-Stim' and having a go on the sex wedge appeared to be having fun or were at least investigating things with a rigorously prurient interest.
Only a small proportion took the opportunity to dress up "sexy" whether that be waist cinching corsets, killer stilettos, pole dancing platforms, outfits made of bondage tape, slashed leather, cross dressing, fantasy goth or whatever. The majority of the crowd could have been found on Oxford Street any time: tourists, couples of all ages, groups of builders on a lads' day out, solitary shoppers, even family groups - all were welcome as long as they shelled out the requisite and didn't take photos. Props to the RSPB whose stall was covered in lewd double entendres about 'members' and whose t-shirts had 'tits' on and good to see the NHS in the thick of things with a safe sex message but we've had sexier times in Sainbury's for a fraction of the cost.
