Food safety inspectors have once again discovered dangerous levels of methanol in counterfeit bottles of Imperial Vodka, a brand produced and sold by Spar which is, how to put this delicately, popular with those who don't quite have the cash to splash on a bottle of Grey Goose to make that White Russian. The bootleg batches of botched booze were found in non-Spar stores (bit of a giveaway, that) around Manor Park and East Ham, so if you've been 'aving it large on the cheap in those burgs, might be worth visiting the GP for a check-up. Can't say we haven't been warned, though: earlier in the year food safety officers found similarly tainted supplies in Holloway Road and around Haringey.
