The last in this year's season of free films at The Scoop in More London, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, will be screened tonight at 7pm tonight. Rooting Homer's Odyssey in the lush topography of Depression-era Mississippi, the Coen brothers' film pits George Clooney, John Turturro and Tim Blake-Nelson in a screwball dash from the authorities as Clooney's pomade-loving crim attempts to win back the affections of his wife (a fierce Holly Hunter) and re-establish himself as the paterfamilias of his brood. Fine performances all round, characteristic Coen stylishishness, and a fantastic, Grammy-winning soundtrack that sparked a brief surge in popularity for period bluegrass, make this an ideal choice to close the season. From 7pm, at The Scoop, More London, beside City Hall.
