Church Worker Stabbed At Anti-Crime Event

The 41-year old man was at a church-sponsored event at the Albany Theatre in Deptford last night when he confronted a gang of youths who were making mischief. For his troubles, the man was stabbed several times. He is currently in hospital in a critical condition, while a 16-year old is languishing in jail on suspicion of attempted murder. Another 16-year old was also taken to hospital with knife wounds, but has now been released. The sting in this sorry tale? It took place at an event aimed at keeping young people away from a life of crime.
