Film Preview: Secret Cinema In London Fields On Sunday

0509_cinema.jpg It's time again for Secret Cinema. We've been here before, so you know the drill: a secret film to be screened at an unusual location, with the picture you're about to watch only emerging as the opening credits roll. The organisers are currently erecting an open-air site (pictured) in London Fields, Hackney, for the event, which will be the biggest yet; there's no word on what the flick will be, but fans take a stab at what's on offer by ploughing through the clues on the website, or in the following (optional) dress code: " Late 70's. Funked out. Stripes. Tribal. Groovy hats and bandanas." Secret Cinema at London Fields, E8, 6.30pm Sunday 6th September. Tickets cost £18.

Is there a list of previous Secret Cinema screenings?

Is it likely to be a modern film release, or some arty film from way back when?

I was at the Alien warehouse event a couple of weeks ago and I can honestly say that it was the most surreal and fun film experience I’ve ever had. I did initially balk at the price beforehand, but between the film, the dj, the huge all night dance floor, the themed food and drinks, and the location, I got my money’s worth, I’ll say that much.

I’ve got a ticket for the secret event on Friday the 27th so I’m expecting something equally out there.

I have no idea how they'll top dressing up an entire warehouse like the Alien set, but I'm sure they will.
