Shotgun Crime On The Rise

As another young man is shot (but stable, thank goodness) in south-east London - specifically Halesworth Road in Lewisham - news filters through that gun crime is on the rise across the city. A particular type of gun crime: use of shotguns is up 50% over the year. Does it sound less scary when the actual numbers reveal a total of 165 crimes involving shotguns between January and July, the guns being fired on 55 occasions? Hmm. No, not really. So to the 24,000 shotgun licence holders in London, we say: please lock up your guns. They're really fricking big things. (Image / mrpattersonsir)
