Want to inject some drama into your Thursday night? Reject the overcrowded pubs and take a picnic to Trafalgar Square instead, where the generous folk from the Royal Opera House are holding a free screening of 'Ondine', a three act, tragic ballet about the titular water sprite and her mortal lover. Show starts at 7.30pm but we'd recommend getting there earlier to bag a good spot in the sunshind and enjoy pre-performance events. Full information is available from the website. Just remember to bring a cushion to soften the impact of those hard steps - suffering for art should only go so far. By Caroline Roddie.
