Murder, Misdemeanour Hit Spurs Squad

A pair of off-field stories have rocked Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend. On Saturday, defender Wilson Palacios departed for his native Honduras after the body of his 16-year old brother was discovered. Edwin Palacios was kidnapped in October 2007 and, despite payment of a hefty ransom, had never been returned. In a grisly bit of symmetry, teammate Jermain Defoe's half-brother was also killed in a London assault last month. Spurs boss Harry Redknapp offered his condolences to the Palacios family and paid tribute to the player's dedication in such trying circumstances. He probably won't be so generous to club captain Ledley King, who was arrested early this morning outside a London nightclub on suspicion of actual bodily harm. According to the Times, King trash-talked the doorman outside Punk in Soho Street, before allegedly assaulting him. The occasional England defender is being questioned at a central London police station.
