Slow Exposure Update: Judges, Prizes, Party

Slow Exposure, our fabulous photography competition, has only been running a week and already there are 70 photos in the competition Flickrpool. With just over a week to go before the pool closes here's an exciting update on how things are shaping up.

Meet the Judges

We're chuffed to announce our esteemed panel of judges:

  • Representing Londonist: Mike Ramsden Presenter, BBC London.
  • Representing Slow Down London: Amanda Stone, Director, Slow Down London
  • Representing photography: Brett Jefferson Stott, Founder & CEO of Shoot Experience.
  • We're hugely appreciative to all of them for offering their time and unique perspectives.

    You want prizes?

The ultimate prize in this competition is the opportunity to exhibit your work for an entire month at Ray's Jazz Cafe and to be used, credited and treasured by Slow Down London whenever they need some lovely slow photography. However, Judge Brett is generously throwing something extra into the pot: five photographers will be offered a free team to selected Shoot Experience events*. So once the stress of the exhibition is over, you can go out shooting for some fun. Thanks, Brett!

    Now you need to party

Put this in your diary now: Friday 1 May. Londonist will host a private view of the Slow Exposure exhibition in Ray's Jazz Cafe, Foyles, Charing Cross Road between 6pm and 8.30pm. After that, we're planning to go on somewhere else to party a little less sedately and details will follow. Competition winners of course MUST bring all their friends and family to show off their award winning photography, meet the judges and find out who's won goodies but all Londonist readers, contributors and friends are very welcome, in fact we urge you to come and celebrate with us!

There'll be some chilled out music to help you all slow down after work and the bar and cafe will be open serving beer and wine and a fine selection of sandwiches, quiches, pies, cakes, flapjacks and cookies which we need you to promise to partake of - Foyles and the Cafe have very generously lent us their exhibition space for free and aren't charging us for taking over the Cafe for one night, but we do need to make their minimum spend so please splash some cash.

RSVP for the private view by email so we can keep an eye on numbers and we can't wait to see you there.

The pool is open for entries until midnight, Sunday 22 March. Good luck!

*Offer is subject to availability. Tickets from certain sponsored and partnered events are excluded from this offer - winners will need to email for details.
