Queen In East End Tour

2603_umbrella.jpg Cooped up in her Buckingham Palace bolthole, with a clod-mouthed husband and a know-nothing son for company, Her Maj's pleasures are often unpredictable in nature. Take, for example, her trip round businesses in the East End this week. Accompanied by Prince Philip ("mesmerising"), Liz the Second turned up for a nose-round at Fulton's Umbrellas of Blackwall — official suppliers of brollies to the Palace, no less — where they received a warm welcome. She also visited the Whitechapel bell foundry where, despite being surprised by their appearance, staff managed to show the Royals the ropes. (Image / tartalom)
