A feast organized by blogging foodie buddies Chris Pople and Helen Graves (both of whom we’ve showcased here and here), Whitechapel’s most celebrated of curry houses, Tayyabs, saw a formidable contingent of London food bloggers toss back many a lamb chop and more last night. Of course, Londonist was there (with three Londonistas partaking in the yum-fest) enjoying the food as well as the company of some of London’s most serious eaters.

No strangers to expectant crowds, the Tayyabs folks accommodated us in their VIP lounge and, in a gesture of hospitality, comped our gang of blogospheric critics with a couple of succulently tender legs of lamb. The damage? All twenty-five (or so) of us devoured copious amounts of just about everything on Tayyabs menu for a total of twelve quid a head (and that includes a decent tip - but not any byob purchases). Londonist reckons everything sampled in last night’s spread was pretty good. We especially enjoyed the chops and the naan and thought the leg of lamb was exceptional.
