Santa's Lap: Wipe Your Feet On London

Every day this month the Londonist team will be pointing you in the direction of a Christmas present that (with a bit of luck) you won't already have on your list. Climb up onto our collective lap and we'll see what we can move from our sack to your stockings...

Our own Christmas shopping tripped us up yesterday and Santa's lap was left empty - sorry - but watch out for a twofer coming your way... starting off with this stylish "wood weave floor mat" perfect to make you feel on top of the city or hovering over the Eastenders credits. The mat is good for use in the bathroom or at your front door, as it's water and scratch resistant, and is potentially helpful for newcomers to town, as they can absorb the shape of the capital through the soles of their feet or via the more traditional route of looking at it. It'll set you back a rather staggering £43.50 but because it's made of flexible wooden squares on a fabric base, it rolls up neatly into a fabric bag so ideal for people on short term lets or City types being forced out of their Docklands apartments.
