The Prime Minister today provoked howls of mirth on the opposition benches when he claimed that his government had "saved the banks and the world". Amidst a cacophony of Conservative jeers, the PM struggled to make his initial sentiment - that they had "saved the banks and led the world" - heard. Except some fast-rising wag at Saatchi & Saatchi to mock up an ad sharpish featuring Gordy clad in Superman's cape. The Tories should beware, though - painting Barack Obama as a self-aggrandising saviour didn't help John McCain win the presidency of the United States. Image / Wurz
