London universities are some of the best in the country for research. Results of the first Research Assessment Exercise for 7 years were published today and LSE, Imperial and UCL are in the top 5, beaten only by Oxbridge. It's actually research that brings in most funding for universities, not teaching all those scummy undergrads, so it's kerching for these institutions as well as Queen Mary and Westfield, Kings College, Royal Holloway, Birkbeck, SOAS and Goldsmiths. But come on TVU and London Met, you're letting the side down!
