A Pair Of Embassy Protests

2912_embassy.jpgGroups of protesters are doing their thang (protesting, that is) outside two London-based foreign embassies. Israel's Kensington embassy was the scene of a demonstration over the weekend by between 700 and 1,500 people (depending on sources), part of a European-wide series calling for an end to Israel's bombing campaign in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, in a less publicity-grabbing move, members of Britain's Iranian community have gathered outside the French embassy in Mayfair, calling on the EU under its current French presidency to overturn a ruling that lists the People's Mujahedin of Iran as a blacklisted terrorist group. Supporters claim that the PMOI is a non-terror group dedicated to the overthrow of the current Iranian government. (Image / Simon-K)
