Walkabout Woe As Aussies Abandon London

WalkaboutHave you noticed a little less vomit smeared on the sidewalk outside your local Antipodean imbibery? Seems that our board short-wearing buddies are deciding to head back home. According to The Times, "record numbers" of Australians are departing, with around 2,700 leaving every month, many of them formerly employed by London's listless financial jobs market. However, it seems that we're not going to let them go without a fight. To those Sydney-siders and Melbourne metropoles who thought they'd packed off the rowdier elements for good, we can only say: you'd better run, you'd better take cover.

I wonder if this is behind Walkabout themselves giving away a million free burgers. I doubt that will be enough to keep Aussies in town, but it's a good try.

Seriously though, I've known some fine Australians here. I'll be sad if they all go.

Maybe we're sick of English people persistently reducing all 400,000 of us living in the UK to a boring, outdated stereotype?

Also, Sydney and Melbourne are not the only cities in Australia.

Shall I call you all whinging Poms with bad teeth now?

Shall I call you all whinging Poms with bad teeth now?

By including the oft-used (not to mention boring and outdated) sobriquet "whinging Pom", you're complaint about stereotying has surely boomeranged and struck you in the face.

Both us nations do it to eachother, like quarrelsome brothers secretly envious of the others good qualities.

Thanks but I'm completely aware that I was using a similar stereotype in the same way the author of the article was. I was being sarcastic.
