Noah and The Whale. It's amazing what names bands are coming up with these days, but somehow this fantastical one suits one of our new favourite bands. We know we're a bit behind the times here, after all Noah's crew have been making waves since the summer, but for some reason we've only just properly listened to them and wow.
Noah and The Whale are part of the newly cool folk scene. If we were the NME we'd call it nu-folk but we aren't (and we'll never use that term again - Ed!). Based in London, 21 year old Charlie Fink heads up the band as vocalist and songwriter; he's joined by Doug on drums, Tom on Fiddle and Matt on bass, and have often played with the likes of Emmy The Great and Laura Marling. Their almost impossibly endearing lyrics and ukulele and fiddle twists and turns have gained them lots of fans over the last six months and to celebrate they're holding a Christmas Party on 10 December at Bush Hall on Uxbridge Road where they'll be supported by Johnny Flynn and The Sussex Wit and Slow Club
We've got 2 pairs of tickets to give away for the event. Simply enter here or if you want to make sure you go then they're on sale here
