Santa's Lap: Luxury Food Please!

Every day this month the Londonist team will be pointing you in the direction of a Christmas present that (with a bit of luck) you won't already have on your list. Climb up onto our collective lap and we'll see what we can move from our sack to your stockings...

A large shop with gorgeous window displays most of us can only look at rather than touch, Fortnum and Mason is a pillar of the Piccadilly area.

Famed particularly for their food hall, and the gorgeous blue boxes in which everything arrives, if you want to show a touch of luxury to your special someone then F&M might have something affordable. Yes, to get a taste of the food we wish we could stock our cupboards with (hell, even M&S is pushing it a bit), Fortnum and Mason present their £75 Weekender Hamper. Containing biscuits, truffles, cognac butter, jam, lemon curd, tea, wine and a Christmas pudding, you couldn't even make a meal from it's contents but it would look damn pretty.

Of course, if you're feeling adventurous then you could always plump for the Tercenturian hamper. Priced at an extraordinary £20,000, it's contents include 25 person Foie Gras en croute, Beluga Caviar, hand engraved stationary, beaufort cheese, a three tier fruit cake, lots of champagne, and er some cashmere socks.
