Track the Plaque

Part 11

A special guest plaque this week, sent to us by one-time Londoner Fred. (Fred blogs about life in Kinshasa, in the "Democratic" Republic of Congo. Extra Extra is a bit like a Congolese version of Londonist - only with much harder cops.)

But back to London...where can this plaque be found? (The easy part.) And who was Julian Wall, other than a 'totter, squatter a true individual'?

Google is our friend : Nr. 413 Coldharbour Lane (Brixton). But as you said, it was the easy part. There is an assistant director named Julian Wall. Maybe it's him...

Julian Wall was a founder member of Carlton Mansions Housing co-operative. He helped alot of people in Brixton in the 70's and 80's with housing stuff. He knew alot about objects from being a totter. He had a great sense of humour and was a much loved member of our community - so 25 years after his death we are finally being evicted - he would be horrified at that!
