And, so, as promised, the acts taking part in the BBC's Making Your Mind Up have been announced, and they are:

Big Bruvaz - Big Bruva Thang

Brian Harvey - I Can

Cindi - I'll Leave My Heart

Justin Hawkins & Beverlei Brown - They Don't Make Them Like They Used To

Liz McClarnon - (Don't It Make You) Happy

Scooch - Fly The Flag (For You)

Many of the rumours were right, then. Londonist is already supporting Liz because we like vocal-led female pop, but the name of the Scooch song is right up the Eurovision avenue (an avenue lined with flags and glitter and wind machines). Justin Hawkins should bring some entertainment value in his pretend cod rock anarchy shrieking way (if nothing else), but we've no idea who Beverlei Brown or "newcomer to the music scene" Cyndi are. Somewhat oddly, we hear Brian Harvey has the song to beat.

The show is expected to take place in March, but still no word as yet on when it'll be (that's helpful, isn't it?). And, of course, we've still to hear what the songs actually sound like...
