Wednesday

London Liming is a night of readings and performances by UK and international writers, plus DJ sets. From 8pm, £6/£5, GE Club, The Great Eastern Hotel, EC2M 7QN.

Thursday

Jancis Robinson will be doing a wine-tasting and signing copies of the new edition of her Oxford Companion to Wine tonight, but probably not at the same time. 6 - 7.30pm, free at Foyles Bookshop.

Friday

In conversation with Moris Farhi - the Turkish author of Children of the Rainbow, and Young Turk has actively campaigned for freedom of expression in his native land and on behalf of persecuted writers everywhere. In 2001 Farhi was awarded the MBE for services to literature. 1-2pm, free, Museum Of London, 150 London Wall, EC2, 0870 444 3850.

Monday

V.S. Naipaul in conversation with John Carey - The Nobel Prize winning author (pictured) of The Mystic Masseur talks with the Chief Critic at the Sunday Times. 7pm, £5, Kenneth Clark Lecture Theatre, Somerset House, Strand, WC2.
