Did something happen on 666?
Time For Some Crushing Metal

We only ask because earlier today we saw Alice Cooper on the local news speaking of his love for golf (?!) followed by a group of demons talking about their Eurovisionary music near the Thames. We figured maybe that the balance of power had shifted and Iron Maiden backpatches were now back in vogue? No? Ok... back in the Londonist wardrobe it goes.

But while we're on the subject we should probably mention Earache Extreme Metal Racing:

EARACHE EXTREME METAL RACING uniquely was conceived and created by 15 year old Gothic metaller Sky Nash... [and] will feature ten evil Earache racing teams burning a lot more than rubber through hell and other wastelands. Along with themed tracks from the combatants on the starting grid there’ll also be a plethora of extreme Earache classics making up the soundtrack of the game from such luminaries as Napalm Death, At The Gates, Cathedral, The Haunted, Hate Eternal, Cult Of Luna, Beecher, Urkraft, Anata, Mistress, Severe Torture and many others.

If that sounds like your goblet of mead then there is no better place to get a look at the game than the Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards at Koko on June 12. There will be PS2 pods set up so "both the public and the bands can preview the game”.

Playing games with Napalm Death... what could possibly be more fun?

Thanks to FurryJumperGirl for the most excellent photo.
