Another date for your diaries. Wednesday the 15th of March sees The Wonderstuff play the Carling Academy Islington:

Suspended By Stars (released February 2006), is the brand new album from The Wonderstuff, which follows on from the band's 2004 release, Escape From Rubbish Island, their first studio album for eleven years. With 17 top 20 singles and 3 top 10 albums under their belt, Suspended By Stars, their most definitive album to date, coincides with the 20th Anniversary of The Wonderstuff forming.

First studio album for seven years usually means that the money finally ran out - time to reform. Whether The Wonderstuff are back because of a NEED to perform live or simply to pay for the latest gas price hike is something for the fans to argue about amongst themselves. We're only mentioning the gig as an excuse to bring up Underground Ernie again.

This is the Underground based animated BBC kid's show that The Wonderstuff have supplied the theme tune (There's Something About Ernie) for - be interesting to see if that makes it into the set at the Academy. The show also features a Brummie busker based on Miles Hunt. The mind boggles.

We will of course be bringing you an in-depth episode guide to the show once it starts later in the year, but for now you'll have to make do with the official website, which uncannily seems to be delayed due to web-engineering works just now.
