Londonist Loves... Sharing

We awoke this morning to a little glimmer of gold hidden among the dirty rocks of viagra, penis extensions and offers of money from Nigeria that form the Londonist email folder. Flickr, one of our all time favourite online innovations, sent us the following happy tidings:

You may have heard on the grapevine that we planned to reward our dear Flickr members who bought a Pro Account in the early days. Well, it's true! And since you're one of those lovely people, here's a little something to say YOU ROCK!

1. Double what you paid for! Your original 1 year pro account has been doubled to 2 years.

2. More capacity! Now you can upload 2 GB per month.

3. 2 free Pro Accounts to give away to your friends!

Thank you so much for putting your money where your mouth is and supporting us, even while we're in beta. Your generosity and cold, hard cash helped us get where we are today.

Now that's customer service! Keep reading after the jump for a chance to get yourself a free Pro account!

Those of you that have a regular account also get a share of the pie according to the Flickr Blog:

On Free Accounts the limits will be doubled for uploads and archiving, i.e. 20 MB a month in uploads, 200 photos will be archived and available through the site.

Londonist had six Pro accounts at the last count so we've suddenly got a sack full of free Flickr Pro accounts. Even after begging emails from friends have been answered and we payed off a few bribes that we owe, we still have the opportunity to follow the good example set by Flickr HQ and spread the love over to you guys.

We're giving away a free Flickr Pro account to one lucky Londonist reader. All you have to do is drop us an email with the answer to this question:

Arthur Fellig had a knack for turning up at crime scenes at just the right moment to snap unforgettable photos, but what was the nickname by which he is now mostly known?

a. Squeegee

b. Weegee

c. Peewee

We'll take all the correct answers, put them in the official Londonist competition hat, and pull out a name on Friday. That means the winner will have a wonderful weekend snapping away to their hearts content and come back Monday with a stack of pics to upload to their new Pro account and the (hint, hint) Londonist photo pool.

UPDATE: The winner, picked out of the Londonist hat by Rob, was Joanna Hoy. We look forward to seeing her photos in the Londonist pool very soon...
