Paintings A Big Draw

Proving that people may not know art but they know what they like the artists that spawned a thousand cheap motel prints, Turner Whistler and Monet are proving a draw of Beatle-esque proportions at the Tate Britain.

The show has an aquatic theme with the work on show being based around the Thames, the Seine, and the Lagoon of Venice, which apparently had over 500,000 enthralled when the exhibition was in Paris.

It's nice to see the Tate Britain taking back some of the limelight from it's bigger flashier brother south of the river, and one of the big name exhibitions is sure to do that.

One of the fondest gallery memories Londonist has was of Rothkos Four Seasons paintings in a separate room at the Tate Britain and it’s always been one of the gallery spaces in London that never seems too crowded and has an always high standard of paintings in it's constant collection.

The exhibition runs from the 10th of Feb to the 15th of May, Tickets are £10.
