Vinnie Jones has finally met his match. After years of tear inducing tackling as a footballer, shotgun wielding as a movie hardman and bottle juggling in some sweaty advert he finally gets to bang heads

with a hobbit. Well Sean Astin anyway.

The unlikely pair have teamed up in Slipstream - a sci fi time travel heist movie, and you can never have too many of those. No prizes for guessing who plays the nerdy genius and who plays the violent bank robber.

Type-casting aside it's probably a fun way to spend an hour and a half and is just one of the movies on offer at this year's Sci Fi London Film Festival.

The event runs from the 2nd to the 6th of February and has way too many films on offer to list here but highlights include The Machinist with a very thin Christian Bale, Primer which has wowed every one lucky enough to see it already and a good helping of Shaw Brothers Chinese weirdness. There's also a MATRIX all-nighter if you need to catch up on your sleep.

Our festival tip? Saving Star Wars introduced by Darth Vader himself. No not that sulky kid, we're talking about the original Vader: Dave (Green Cross Code) Prowse.

Go and have some fun but if we see you there dressed as a Jedi we will slap you.
