Londoonist can confidently predict a good few feet of snow for Christmas Day this year. How do we know? Because ex-weatherman Michael Fish has bet against it.
According to the papers Fish "has put his reputation on the line again – betting £1,000 that it will not snow on Christmas Day"
Hmm, not much of a reputation really is it? We are talking about the same Michael Fish who told viewers back in October 1987 that "a woman rang to say she'd heard there was a hurricane on the way. Well, don't worry, there isn't."
Britain was subsequently hit by the worst hurricane since 1703.
Fish, who retired from TV weather earlier this year, has got odds of 14-5 on no snow for Saturday, and has promised to donate any winnings to Band Aid.
Of course Fish was immortalised in the Tribe of Toff's one and only hit single 'John Kettley is a Weatherman' ("...and so is Michael Fish").
If you don't remember it, we've found this link to an MP3.
