Courtesy of Orhan* Nearly 35,000 dedicated/insane runners hit the London streets yesterday in exceptionally changeable April weather to complete the Flora London Marathon. Wheelchair athletes courtesy of david.ermellino's Flickrstream. There was Blind Dave, Masai Warriors, a hard drinking and smoking geriatric, record breakers and Gordon Ramsay amongst the runners. Whether aiming for athletic glory, personal bests, remembering loved ones, raising cash for good causes or intent on maniacal self-testing of endurance, the elation on finished......

With the Flora London Marathon just 5 days away we thought it was high time we peered over the edge of the sofa (no hurty feet here!) and had a little look at what's going on this week in preparation for the big event: 26.2 miles of running around London, silly costumes optional. Tomorrow marks the start of the Flora London Marathon Expo. Held over four days at the ExCel Centre, the show is......

Book designer Jim Green is currently training for the Flora London Marathon, and is raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at the same time. We're also going to make him wear a sticker with the Londonist logo on it, and as far as we're concerned that makes him Londonist's official Marathon Runner for 2005, which also means he has to write about it all. Here's another excerpt from Jim's training diary, if......
