There were audible gasps this morning, as some passengers realised that following Thamelink's third timetable in two months, their train had actually arrived.
Some found this materialisation almost too good to be true...
I’m on an advertised #thameslink train with a seat and it’s running to time. Hasn’t happened since May 20 2018. Cautious yet jubilant. pic.twitter.com/uIGBBlHm1h

@TLRailUK I’m in shock. 7.04 three bridges to city thameslink reinstated with the interim timetable and im having a stress free journey to work for the first time in 6 weeks. Wondering what the journey home will be like? Will the mysterious 17.06 actually run?

#Thameslink I wish to report something suspicious on platform 11 at Kings Cross.. There's one of your trains with a driver leaving on time!! Since this hasn't happened for three months I thought I better report it as it's very very strange.

Even if the service wasn't perfect...
Amazed to see only 3 Thameslink Peterborough cancellations so far today, expected many more than that!

There were, however, plenty of unhappy bunnies too:
Dear #Thameslink. This week was supposed to be the start of your new strong & stable (if hugely reduced) timetable. And yet there still appear to be huge crowds & delays to trains. Could you please help me out with why? Confused Of Harpenden #saveHPDtrains @TLRailUK @IanProsser7

Another new Thameslink timetable and I can apparently choose between getting to work 30 mins early or 30 mins late. Considering the journey is seven minutes, this is pretty ridiculous.

Yup. Me too. Only took me 2 hours to get to work. Should have been 45 mins. Travelling on the #Thameslink makes me want to stab myself in the eye it would be less painful 😡😡😡😡😡😡 @TLRailUK

#gnrailuk #thameslink when you feel like you’ve done a day’s work already and all you’ve managed to do is get from your home town to London kings cross! #GoviaThameslink #sucks

And despite a possible improvement in some services at the beginning of this week, many believe it's too little, too late.
19175 people have now signed the petition: "Govia Thameslink Railway should have its contract immediately removed"https://t.co/b75mg5djvN

@elonmusk there's a wee trainline franchised by Govia Thameslink that are in a bit of a state and they're not up to the job. I reckon you could put in a measly bid to buy them out and get the gig. Fancy it? Easy profit, ask their execs. @GNRailUK
