Grow Your Art Collection This Summer At The RHS Plant & Art Fair

This is a sponsored article on behalf of the RHS London Plant and Art Fair.

Alright, Londoners aren't exactly known for their love of gardening — not many of us have a garden to start with. However, you'd be wrong if you thought you needed one to get creative with plants...

The RHS London Plant & Art Fair is hitting the capital's turf this July, bringing with it the very best in botanical art and photography — and you don't need to be an expert to join in. The easygoing event features artists from as far afield as Australia, the USA and Japan, and marks the ideal opportunity to plant the first seed of your art collection (or to grow it).

The two day event sees more than 40 exhibitors showcase the best of their plant-inspired works, with plenty of horticultural inspiration to go around — don't miss The Chelsea College of Art's conceptual flower exhibit, Garden Spectacle, and nursery owner Mark D'Cruz's stunning Bonsai Garden. The launch of the 2018 RHS Photographic Competition, sponsored by the Sunday Times, is also taking place at the show.

Prefer to get hands on? In keeping with this year's Japanese theme, visitors can learn the techniques of Japanese flower arranging with Ikebana-inspired floristry workshops, or try their hand at botanical painting and illustration with free classes run by the Chelsea School of Botanical Art. There's a programme of free talks on offer too, with appearances from the likes of Alys Fowler and Nick Bailey.

Whether you're a plant lover or an art novice, there's something at the show for you. Check it out at the Royal Horticultural Society's historic Lindley Hall, from 11am on Wednesday 11 July and Thursday 12 July — ideal for a quick lunchtime pit stop, or a blooming good afternoon out.

Want first dibs? See the show before the crowds at the Late Event, with a live DJ and food to kick off celebrations.

The RHS Plant & Art Fair London is on 10 July 5pm-9pm, 11 July 11am-8pm, and 12 July 11am-6pm. Tickets start at just £5. Click here to book.
