Here's a fantastic way to support a very worthy cause: walk, jog, or scoot your way to 5k, as part of a fun-filled family day out in Hyde Park.
RBC Race for the Kids is an annual fun run sponsored by Royal Bank of Canada that raises much-needed funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSH Charity). It's uber-accessible — wheelchair users are able to take part, and all ages and abilities are welcome. What's more, your young ones can race for free!
All the money raised from this year's edition of RBC Race for the Kids — which takes place on Saturday 7 October — will go towards building the new Children's Cancer Centre at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). This world-class facility will focus on the child, as well as the disease, and aims to provide a gateway to a better future, where they'll not only survive, but flourish. If that's not motivation to raise as much as you can, we don't know what is! (By the way, there's no minimum fundraising pledge.)
There's much more to the event than the fun run itself. RBC Race for the Kids is known for its fantastic festival atmosphere, and there's all sorts of entertainment on offer this year.
We're talking crazy golf, bubble art, face-painting and bungee-trampolining. Have a go on the climbing wall, or enjoy a well-deserved rest as you watch live performances from the team at Butlin's and Spirit Young Performers Company. There may even be a few famous faces in the crowd...
You can sign up for RBC Race for the Kids 2023 here. Registration is £21.50 for adults (until 28 September when the fee will increase to £25) but you can register your under 16s for free (dogs also welcome — no registration required!)
Once you've booked your place, you'll receive a race pack in the post, which includes your race day t-shirt. Then, on completion of the course, you'll be awarded a medal and a virtual goodie bag.
