Vibrant Diwali celebrations return to Trafalgar Square at the end of October — featuring the likes of music, dance, puppet shows, yoga, meditation, comedy and henna.

The free Diwali on the Square festival — organised by the Mayor of London, and featuring people from across London's Hindu, Jain and Sikh communities — kicks off at lunchtime on Sunday 29 October, with an opening ceremony consisting of 200 vibrantly-clothed dancers on the main stage.

Throughout the rest of the afternoon and into the evening, the stage hosts a medley of free entertainment, including Bollywood dancing and Punjabi singing medleys. (Psst - participation is very much encouraged!)

Elsewhere in Trafalgar Square, there's meditation and yoga, bead workshops, a puppet zone, a sari and turban tying stand, comedy from Soho Theatre — plus plenty to keep the kids entertained. Tasty vegan and vegetarian food options will also be available too.
