A Four-Day Jazz Festival Is Taking Over Soho This Month

Is Soho witnessing a new Jazz Age? Certainly, that's what the organisers of a new jazz festival have in mind.

Soho.Live's Jazz Week arrives this month — with more than 250 artists playing 45 shows across 15 Soho venues.

Highlights include jazz & electro-soul singer Bille Black at Soho Theatre (11 September); Collette Cooper — described as "Janis Joplin channelling Edith Piaf" at Quo Vadis (12 September); Louise Messenger recreating a 1956 set by Ella Fitzgerald at Bill's Soho Restaurant (13 September); plus late night jazz jams throughout the week.

The festival climaxes with six-hours of al fresco jazz on Carlisle Street (14 September). Expect the same vibes as the summer street party, recently hosted by the legendary Ronnie Scott's jazz club.

Soho Jazz Week, runs 11-14 September. Some shows have an entrance feee; some are free but require tickets; others are free but require booking a table at the venue. Tickets and details on the website.
