The Best Christmas Jumpers For Christmas Jumper Day 2016

The lights are on, the Christmas trees are up and Christmas Jumper Day is coming (16 December, FYI).  If you're struggling to find the perfect piece of festive knitwear, take inspiration from these London-themed offerings.

London bus Christmas jumper

Nothing says London like a stonking great red bus emblazoned across your front, and nothing screams Christmas like sequins. The two have been combined to great effect in this ladies' jumper — you can even see the London Eye peeping out.

Sequin London bus Christmas jumper, £12.80,  available from Tesco.

Little Londoners needn't feel left out with this stylish mini offering from John Lewis, which has buses by the bucketful.

Baby Fair Isle bus jumper, £16-£17, available from John Lewis.

Natural History Museum's dinosaur jumper

Have a prehistoric Christmas with Natural History Museum's dinosaur jumper. Dippy may be on his way out, but this t-rex still knows how to party.

Dinosaur Christmas jumper, £45, available from Natural History Museum

Mini dinosaur fans can get involved with this light up dinosaur jumper. On second thoughts, WE want this one. We could squeeze into a jumper made for 7-year-olds, right?

Dinosaur light up jumper, £16-£18, available from Marks & Spencer

Science Museum's Stephenson's Rocket jumper

If you're into your trains, this one will really put the steam in your chimney. The Science Museum's green jumper depicts Stephenson's Rocket, an early version of the steam engine. You can see the real deal on display in the museum.

Stephenson's Rocket jumper, £15, available from Science Museum

Horniman walrus

This knitted marine mammal may not be Londony in itself, but it does put us in mind of a certain overstuffed south London resident.

The Horniman Museum walrus already has its own Twitter account and soft toys, so why not dedicate a piece of festive knitwear to it too?

Boys' walrus Christmas jumper, £20-£22 available from John Lewis

Assassin's Creed Syndicate jumper

One for the gamers out there; this jumper features the logo of the Assassin's Creed Syndicate game — which, handily for us, also incorporates Tower Bridge and St Paul's Cathedral.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate jumper, £19.99 available from yellowbulldog.co.uk

Gingle bells

Carnaby Street's We Built This City is celebrating London Gin and providing an excellent festive pun in the form of the Gingle Bells sweater. Top marks.

London Gin jumper, £30, available from We Built This City

Londonist dog Toby

If you follow us on Instagram, you may already be familiar with #officedogToby. Our canine mascot is in the office most days, sniffing his way round our biscuit tin and offering visitors a hearty (if noisy) welcome. It's not a Christmas jumper, but we love it anyway. Just look at that face.

Bertie Jack Russell sweater, £44, available from Sugar Hill Boutique
