London's highest Christmas lights are switched on tonight, illuminating the top 20 floors of The Shard for the festive season.
Shard Lights 2019 — switched on at 6.50pm on 9 December — consist of three nine-minute sequences, which play on a loop every half hour throughout the evening at the top of the 310m high building.
This year's illuminations were designed by local schoolchildren, and we're promised "an exciting and inspiring visual display to light up the capital".
