The blue and yellow colours of the Ukrainian flag have become a common sight across London in recent weeks.
The latest iteration covers a building in east London — with passers-by able to snap the artwork and make a donation towards humanitarian aid for Ukrainian people.
'Together for Ukraine' is an 80-metre-long artwork, adorning the side of former music venue, The Standard in Walthamstow. It's the work of street artist, Maser, whose dazzle-style building takeovers you may recognise. He's used recycled paint delivered from landfill to smother The Standard in his version of the Ukrainian flag.
People passing Together for Ukraine (it's a few minutes' walk from Blackhorse Road Overground station) can scan it with their phones on the Smartify app, and will then be taken to a page where they can purchase a limited edition print from Maser or make a donation directly to Play Your Part for Ukraine.
Maser's installation is in partnership with Wood Street Walls, an organisation working to empower local communities and artists in public spaces. It's hoped this artwork will inspire artists across the UK to paint "every city and town blue and yellow", showing unity with Ukraine and driving the appeal for humanitarian aid.
Wood Street Walls has made an initial £4,000 available to organisations and school groups looking to join the Paint for Ukraine campaign.
The Standard itself has been closed for over a decade but will be redeveloped later this year into a new venue and shared living accommodation.
You'll find Together for Ukraine at 1 Blackhorse Road, Walthamstow
