Londonist is proud media partner to the Wallace Collection's Friday Late series. Don't miss Look OUT, happening on 5 February.
The Wallace Collection's popular Friday Late sessions are back — and next on the calendar is their annual special celebrating LGBT History Month.
Guest curator and artist Sadie Lee has put together an evening of music, performance, makeover sessions and themed talks, plus art and craft activities. Check out the video below to get a feel for the previous lates, then read about the highlights of this unique evening:
Live performances
Fingersnap, the south London duo formed by acclaimed singer David McAlmont and multi-instrumentalist Guy Davies, will perform their melodic, haunting music in the stunning surroundings of the Great Gallery, which houses one of the finest collections of Old Master paintings in the world.
Pop-up wind orchestra Jolly Pops, meanwhile, will enliven the Courtyard restaurant and bar. Or accompany your evening art fix with a soundtrack of Northern Soul, Motown and reggae, played by DJ Debbie Smith.
For something a little different, pull up a chair and soak up a show from Virgin Xtravaganzah — London’s only 'Holy Comedic Singing Drag Queen'. Promises to be fun.
Creative workshops and talks
Recreate your look in glamorous 18th century style, by treating yourself to a 'Punk ‘n’ Pomp' makeover from celebrity hair and makeup artist, Darren Evans.
Plus there are plenty of opportunities to get crafty, with life drawing and badge making. During the evening, join one of the 20-minute themed talks on art led by Director Christoph Vogtherr and knowledgeable guides.
Look OUT Late takes place at 6.30pm on 5 February at The Wallace Collection, Hertford House, Manchester Square, W1U 3BN. Tickets are £10/£12 and can be bought on the Collection or YPlan websites.
