We're not really sure when it became a thing, but Christmas Jumper Day has made its mark on our festive calendar.

Love it or hate it, more and more people are going to parade around in 'bad' Christmas jumpers at this time of year.

Whether you're raising money for good causes, toeing the line for the office party or just getting into the festive spirit, we've selected our favourite Christmas jumpers. Buy them online and save yourself the hassle of hunting around over-stuffed, over-heated shops.

Available in blue or grey, these fun London-y Christmas jumpers show santa flying over St Paul's, Big Ben and the Gherkin. Who cares if the architectural illustrations are a little off — Big Ben (96m) towers over the Gherkin (180m) — it's Christmaaaaas!

There are great Christmas-in-London jumpers for the girls too. We particularly like this snowy scene with more Big Ben, plus a taxi this time. Christmas in London Knitted Womens Christmas Jumper, £35

If you're on a budget (read: would rather spend your hard-earned cash on an outfit you're going to wear for more than one month day of the year), try this simple-but-seasonal Santa top for just a tenner. Father Christmas Sweatshirt, £10

Chaps hoping to retain a little office credibility could try this sweater from preppy US brand, Penguin. After all, Bing Crosby wore Penguin back in the day, and we all know how good he was at this Christmas lark... Original Penguin Snowflake Fair Isle Jumper, £80

Alternatively, you can go for a totally headache-inducing traditional jumper, with this from Asos. Not for the faint-hearted.

For the man looking for something different this Christmas Jumper Day, try HYMN's Sprout sweatshirt. You can still keep your charity-fun-day credentials without sweating the day away in some dense, knitted, snowflake-strewn monstrosity.

Taller ladies can go bold in this long red number, perfect for wearing over toasty warm leggings as the temperatures drop. Or, if you're an ASOS model, with bare legs. Nothing says 'Christmas' more than a camel wearing a crown. ASOS, Tall Fairisle Camel Christmas Jumper, £32

And last, but by no means least, this hilarious design for him and/or her featuring Rudolph's face and tweakable, squeakable red nose on the front and his bum with 'actual' tail on the back. Be careful when approaching this one, people, particularly if you're working in pairs like the guys in the photos above. Rear End Rudolph Christmas Jumper, £65.
