Salute Tooting At Tootopia

Don't feel you've given Tooting the love and attention it deserves? Makes amends at Tootopia — a festival held in the locale's pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes — which starts today, and runs through the weekend.

Considering Tootopia's venues, it's little surprise that food and drink play a leading role; Tooting’s 12 top eateries are making one-off dishes for a foodie trail, pubs will host a Tootoberfest craft beer festival, and you can be one of the first to pour Graveney Gin down your gullet.

Two historical walking tours will explore the history of Tooting, one of them focussing on the 187 men who departed for Flanders Fields during the First World War.

For families there's glass painting, kids' theatre and, er, baby yoga.

And if you're worried about missing the rugger, Tooting Tram & Social will be transformed into a mini Twickenham Stadium, inviting you to lounge on the turf, watch the action and scoff a limited edition Tooting Terrier curry hot dog.

Tootopia runs from 25-27 September at venues across Tooting. Most events are free, there's a small fee for some. For more information visit Tootopia's website.
