Commuters have had to be rescued from stranded trains by police, after power supply problems between Wandsworth Common and Clapham Junction saw trains into and from Victoria cancelled, and delays of over an hour.

No Southern trains are running from Victoria, and people travelling through Clapham Junction are experiencing delays of well over an hour. The Gatwick Express is not running. Problems are expected to last until midday.

Police have been assisting people getting off the trains:

Commuters are describing chaos at Clapham Junction due to crowds:

A Network Rail spokesperson said: "A major power supply problem between Clapham and Wandsworth Common has disrupted Southern train services into London Victoria this morning.

"Engineers are on site and we aim to resume services as quickly as possible. Tickets are valid on all other routes into London and Southern passengers are advised to avoid travelling through Clapham Junction, which is very busy. South West Trains services to and from Waterloo via Clapham Junction are unaffected."
