40 Photographers Create Record-Breaking Timelapse Of London

In November we told you about LapseLondon, a plan to bring photographers together to create the biggest crowd-sourced timelapse video of the capital. The team behind the project at Triggertrap has now finished editing all the material — 80 clips assembled from over 35,000 individual photographs — and created a hypnotising video that you'll want to stare at on repeat for hours (warning: you may dribble slightly).

The images were gathered over the course of a day earlier this month, with the snappers guided by professional timelapse photographer Chad Gordon Higgins and award-winning urban photographer Nicholas Goodden. Setting out from King’s Cross they visited landmarks across the capital including Tower Bridge, the Thames Barrier, Oxford Circus and even gained access to the BBC Newsroom, as you can see in the finished video above. They rightly say, "the final video is an ode to London".

There's also an interesting documentary about the making of the timelapse, which can be seen here.
