POETRY FESTIVAL: Ealing Autumn Festival kicks off today, inspired by the 450th anniversary of the birth of astronomer Galileo Galilei. DESIGN EXHIBITION: A Good Design? opens today at Chelsea Space. This exhibition traces the development of the Experiment in Design Appreciation scheme, showcasing examples of ‘good design’ that were circulating in secondary London schools between 1951 and 1977. POWER WALK: Survey the London's landscape of power with Rosie Oliver from Dotmaker Tours. By walking around Fleet Street, St Paul's and The Strand you will investigate the capital's users and abusers of authority. WAR POETRY: The British Library marks a century of war poetry. Poet and writer Owen Sheers introduces an evening of readings. Special guests are Andrew Motion and Sabrina Mahfouz.
