Clare Balding Hosts Celebrity Authors At Cadogan Hall

The Hairy Bikers scrub up in preparation for their grilling from Clare Balding.

TV presenter Clare Balding steps into the role of Master of Ceremonies at a two-day literary event in Chelsea in October, to celebrate Tesco’s new ebook service, blinkbox Books.

Last seen cuddling pandas in China for a TV documentary, Clare will be interviewing a series of authors over four sessions, asking them not only about their literary works, but also their lives and influences.

The event kicks off on 3 October with a culinary theme. TV chefs Lorraine Pascale and The Hairy Bikers will be talking about their passion for food and travel, and their latest cookbooks. Later that day David Nicholls, author of One Day, gets the Balding treatment, followed by TV chat show host Graham Norton, who is promoting his new biographical book, The Life And Loves Of A He Devil.

The following day, local lad and comedian Paul Merton faces a grilling, along with comedy writer, journalist, radio presenter and screenwriter Danny Baker. The event wraps up with Caitlin Moran and Kate Mosse in conversation with Clare Balding.

All authors will be talking about their recent or upcoming books, and audience members will have a chance to put their questions to the authors at the end of each session.

Tickets are on sale now at £45 per session, which includes two hardcover copies of the authors' books and Clare’s latest novel on ebook from blinkbox Books.

The events take place at Cadogan Hall in Chelsea on 3 and 4 October at 2.30pm and 7.30pm. Tickets are £45 per session and need to be prebooked.
