"Unique and unforgettable" - Rolling Stone

Bright, bold and fizzing with big ideas, Matilda The Musical is the multi-award winning musical from the Royal Shakespeare Company, inspired by the much-loved book by Roald Dahl.

With book by Dennis Kelly and original songs by Tim Minchin that will have you humming all the way home, Matilda The Musical tells the tale of an extraordinary young girl who is determined to change her own story, even if it means being a little bit naughty.

If you’re finding the daily grind of London life a bit of a slog, Matilda The Musical is a fantastic pick-me-up. Matilda herself is finding life a bit of a slog too. Her parents are bullies and her headmistress is positively awful, but this little girl is not going to take things lying down.

Cue newts in knickers, dancing on desks and a rather rock’n’roll rebellion. We first saw the show when it opened in 2011 and although there is lots of fun to be had for kids and plenty of catchy melodies, there’s also, as we said at the time, “a level of pure theatrical class in this magical musical to enchant the adults out there too”.

Full of heart, courage, little maggots and chocolate cake, Matilda is the winner of 49 international awards, including 12 for Best Musical, and continues to delight audiences of all ages both in London and on Broadway.

Matilda The Musical is playing at the Cambridge Theatre, London and is now booking until December 2014. For more information and to book tickets visit the website, or keep up to date on Twitter via @MatildaMusical.
