Gay Hip Hop + Streetwear Fashion = Gully Live Fashionz

It’s Monday, and if you thought the weekend was over you’d be forgiven. But London is in the grip of Fashion Week, so today is just another weekender.

Tonight, Gully Live Fashionz stands out for its uniqueness on all levels. It’s a gay hip-hop showcase with live performances, and displays by four streetwear designers: Roberto Piqueras, NOKI, Digby Jackson and TZUJI by Larry Tee. Oh, and it’s free entry all night.

This is a great chance to see QBoy, one of the few original out rappers who became a pioneer of the sub-genre, 'homo hop'. Qboy has a warmth and watchability unique to a UK hip-hop artist. He was top of the Young, Gay & Gifted section of The Independent On Sunday’s highly acclaimed Pink List, and you’ll be able to tell why when you see him work the crowd. There’s also a set from new kid on the block, Jai’Rouge.

Joining him direct from LA is AB Soto – bringing a quirky campness and OTT fashionista glamour that’s worth the clamour. There’ll also be some fresh DJs talent including MistaMaker and Ninebob.

Gully Live Fashionz is at The Old Blue Last, 38 Great Eastern Street, EC2A 3ES, 8pm, 17 February. Free entry.
