Ticket Alert: The Rolling Stones, Laura Mvula And More

Looking for something to do later in the year? Here’s our pick of gigs going on sale this week. Tickets to all of these should be available from around 9am Friday.

Let’s start with the biggie. If you’re still kicking yourself for missing out on Glastonbury tickets, you’ll be please to hear The Rolling Stones will also play Hyde Park on 6 July. You’ll have to dig deep though, because tickets are priced between £95 and £299 – plus a not-inconsiderable booking fee.

Alternatively, soulful singer-songwriter Laura Mvula (pictured) hit fourth place in the BBC Sound of 2013 poll, so chances are you’ll have heard her music, even if you haven’t realised it. Catch her at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on 4 October. Tickets from £17.50 + bf.

You’ll find Miles Kane of The Last Shadow Puppets and (formerly) The Rascals in intimate surroundings on 7 June, when he plays Dingwalls in Camden. Expect to hear material from his new album, which is out the same week. Tickets £16.50 + bf.

In what looks like a warm-up for his appearance at Wireless Festival the following Friday, hip-hop star Frank Ocean has announced an O2 Academy Brixton show on 9 July. Tickets £35 + bf.

Finally, US alt-rockers Warpaint are an all-female group with a haunting, somewhat other-wordly edge to their intelligent sound. They’ll also be at O2 Academy Brixton on 30 October. Tickets £17.50 + bf.

Also booking this week: Frankie and the Heartstrings, Wiley and Clutch.

I believe that Miles Kane is of Last Shadow Puppets fame and not The Arctic Monkeys…?

Absolutely right, and apologies for that. Now edited. I’ve no idea which part of my brain that came from, as I’m well aware he’s not in the Arctic Monkeys!
