If you want to play in your very own House of Commons, you'd better have deep pockets. Wimbledon Studios has put its set up for sale on eBay, where bidding is currently standing at more than £121,000.

The set was first built for an adaptation of a Jeffrey Archer novel, First Among Equals (which sounds unpromising, but it did feature Tom Wilkinson), and also turned up as a backdrop for Alan B'Stard in The New Statesman. If you went on the Granada Studios tour as a kid you'll have seen it, and after that attraction closed down Paul Abbott bought it for his brilliant State of Play. Most recently, Meryl Streep stood behind the despatch box in The Iron Lady.

As well as the House of Commons set, you'd also get a courtroom and prison – handy if you wanted to make The Chris Huhne Story. You'll also have to arrange your own shipping. And bridging loan, probably. Bidding ends at 5.02pm on 22 March so you have all week to talk to your bank.

We spotted a rather lower-tech House of Commons replica from the National Theatre on Friday, as someone made a This House cake for a Comic Relief bake sale, complete with characters from the play. This one's probably more in our budget.
