In Pictures: Tiles Of The Victoria Line

Yesterday we posted Geoff Marshall's fantastic video The Secrets Of The Victoria Line, where he travels the entirety of the line pointing out the bits that are easy to miss on our daily commute.

As not all stations made the video cut, here is a complete picture set of the Victoria Line's tile art, courtesy of Sam Hart via Flickr. Apart from the ones already mentioned in the video, can you work why each station has the motif it does?

Many thanks to Sam who alerted us to his photoset via the Londonist Facebook page.

The Perfumed Dandy

Is Oxford Circus new? I got off there everyday for years, and yet it's the only one I didn't get... perhaps familiarity does breed disregard after all...

Would Pimlico's motif have something to do with the Tate Britain being near by?
